Geek Pop Playlist - January

Happy New Year geeks! So this is the first podcast of the new decade (or of The Future, according to Jim). This month, we take a chemistry lesson from Jurassic Five and make our pitch for sponsorship from tanning tablet companies. And, as promised on the pod, here's a link to Neal's Science and Pies blog. You can also find full versions of most of the songs (not Melanin, sadly) on Spotify.
Lesson 6: The Lecture - Jurassic Five
Particle Man - They Might Be Giants
Markovian Process - Bad Religion
Nitrogen Pink - Polly Scattergood
Use the comment box, tweet at @geekpop or email crew@geekpop.co.uk to let us know what you think about the science behind the songs.
A special announcement this month about Intercontinental Music Lab, who provide the awesome intro and outro music for our podcast: THEY HAVE A NEW ALBUM OUT! And in true Geek Pop style, it's all available to download for FREEEEeeeee!

Yeah its definitely They Might be Giants not There Might be Giants. Apparently using might or may depends on wether its a present or future possibility so the inference is that they might be giants right now not at some point in the future. Unless they got their grammar wrong.
Not just a geek about science.
Firstly, Jim. Your welcome. Glad you liked Polly’s album. Though I should mention I don’t think any one knows what she means by Nitrogen Pinks title, and I’ve never asked. In answer to how old she is, 22/23 though she’s been around longer than you may think, 2 or three years and Mute and has a number of single and EP releases, all on iTunes (I would direct you to the ‘b’ sides songs and demo versions if your interested. Also before this in ‘05 she was with a different label (Ark) and had a EP release there. This does not exist any more (oddly enough Polly has no copy of this) though I do have a copy of the title track (Glory Hallelujah). Enough of that though. Good ‘cast i thought. The banter between you and Hayley is brilliant to listen to. Markovian Process sounded like a good song, I must get round to listening to the whole thing at some point. Hope the snow is not too bad where you are, it’s caused utter havoc here. David
Cool! cheers for the info David
