About Matt: Matt is a mathematician whose life goal is to make people more excited about maths. He studied mathematics and physics in Australia before training to be a teacher and working in both the southern and northern hemisphere. Currently in the UK, Matt talks about mathematics for organisations including the Royal Institution and the BBC, and won the People's Choice Award in the 2009 national Famelab competition. He's also been writing the odd numbers-based article for the Times. His favourite number is currently either 496 or 28, because as far as he’s concerned, they’re both perfect. >>> Check out Matt's website, which is rather cunningly called StandUpMaths.com.
