ABOUT THE ULTRAVIOLET CATASTROPHE: The Ultraviolet Catastrophe is Melanie Windridge, a plasma physicist who also loves talking about science, and in particular fusion energy. She has a PhD from Imperial College London and has spent a year giving lectures on fusion at schools around the country. She's always enjoyed writing silly rhymes and knows a few chords on the guitar. Melanie was a runner-up in last year's Geek Pop songwriting competition, with her first song 'Darwin and the Monkey Bone', specially re-recorded here on electric.
