ABOUT JEFFREY LEWIS: If we have to tell you about Jeffrey Lewis, where have you BEEN? He's freakin' ACE! Not only does he make geeky folk-rock music, telling tales of time machines, octopuses (octopi?) and anxiety attacks, he writes and illustrates comic books. He even gives lectures about Alan Moore's comic book series Watchmen. Although he's based in the US, Jeffrey has released five albums with the British label Rough Trade Records, often collaborating with his brother Jack. His 2011 Geek Pop contribution is '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', performed with Peter Stampfel - who has played with everyone from Bob Dylan to purveyors of fine science-pop music They Might Be Giants. And it's an awesome combination. The track is from the Jeffrey Lewis & Peter Stampfel album Come On Board.
